| This painting started
as a specific landscape---Old Stage Road near Pescadero, California.
It soon took on a life of its own as the painting progressed.
I wanted to keep the mood light, uplifting and airy. As I
added arabesques (curved lines) they kept the eye in perpetual motion
and the original idea lost its importance---giving over to musical
approach.
