GRANITE, WATER, ICE refers to the evolutional and glacial process in the creation of magnificent Yosemite Valley.  It's amazing that rock-hard granite can be ground down by a material much lighter, more fluid, and less dense.  In this case, the combination resulted in Half Dome, one of the most distinct and recognized formations in Yosemite Valley.  I wanted to capture its essence, and the evolutionary process, in a playful, musical way.   This powerful image reminds me of the joy I have found in that monument since I first saw it some 70 years ago.
